When Nintendo first announced the DSi there was much speculation of how it would handle Homebrew, this along with Nintendo saying that the DSi will not be hackable, as always has lead to this:
The first Nintendo DSi Hack:
The hacker “Yasusoft” put this video up on YouTube shortly after the release of the DSi in Japan. It shows his “Hello, World!” message floating and centering on the top screen of a DSi.
One of the biggest differences between the DSi and previous DS handhelds is internet connectivity. While the DS and DS Lite both included online play for many of their titles, the DSi takes it one step further by allowing games and other Nintendo software to be downloaded and stored on SD cards.
With the DSi not being compatible with current flash cartridges came the release of the Acekard 2i. It’s the first DSi compatible flash cartridge. The features appear to be identical to previous versions and we expect other manufactures will be updating their product lines in the near future.
Stay tuned for more DSi Hacks.
